Educators demonstrate a broad knowledge base and an understanding of areas they teach.
My primary teachable area is social studies, for the teaching of which I can draw upon a body of content knowledge and academic skills acquired alongside a BA (History) from the University of Victoria and an MA (Modern Global History) from Jacobs University Bremen. In the summer of 2019 I also took a pair of Canadian history courses to build up my knowledge of content areas that are valuable for Canadian students to be taught.
My leisure reading consists largely of academic works on history and political science, as even a cursory glance at my bookshelf will reveal. (I also built the bookshelf; former shop teacher.)
I am one of (probably very few) Canadians who has read the entire constitution from beginning to end out of personal interest and can define what an eleemosynary institution is.
